Eternity Past, Age of Gentiles, Age of Israel, Hypostatic Union, Church Age, Tribulation, Millennium, Eternal Future
Before you begin this Bible study, if you have never believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, John 3:16 tells us: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life.” Simply have faith that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and you will have eternal life and be saved. If you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, then 1 John 1:9 tells us: “If you confess your sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Simply privately tell God the Father your sins to be filled with God the Holy Spirit and He will teach you Bible truth (rebound).
Promise-Memory Verse
“He caused the storm to be still, so that the waves of the sea were hushed.” Psalm 107:29
Matthew 8:23-27, Mark 4:35-31, Luke 8:22-25-Period of Time-Hypostatic Union
Wherever Jesus went, He taught large crowds of people that He was the Son of God and all about having faith in Him as their Savior. He also taught about forgiving others, treating you r neighbor with love, and much, much more.
At times, Jesus performed miracles in order to get everyone’s attention so that He could teach them all kinds of things about God. One day, He healed someone that was paralyzed and couldn’t walk. He healed some men that were blind, and even brought back two people from the dead.
One evening, after He had spent a long day teaching, Jesus and his friends, the disciples, climbed into a boat. Jesus must have been totally exhausted because He fell sound asleep on a cushion in the stern of the boat. Without warning, it started storming and it felt like they were in a hurricane. When the boat started filling up with water, the disciples started freaking out! I’ll bet they were in shock when they saw that Jesus had slept through the whole thing!
They woke Jesus us and said, “Save us Lord; we are perishing!” He said to them, “Why are you afraid you men of little faith?” Then Jesus got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “hush be still.” Instantly, the waters were perfectly calm. The disciples couldn’t believe it when the sea obeyed Him.
Do any of you wonder why the disciples got scared when Jesus was in the boat with them? God wants to teach us a lesson, just like He did the disciples. He is right beside us as well.
One day, Darryl and his brother David heard the distinct music of a carnival. So, they went to go check it out. Colorful painted horses spun around and around the musical carousel. Tilt- A- whirs jerked people this way and that while the people on them screamed with delight. The air smelled like popcorn, corndogs, and machine oil. There were booths full of stuffed animal prizes for lucky winners of dart games and ball tosses.
Darryl’s eyes sparkled when he saw his favorite ride, the Ferris wheel, spinning high in the air. David wasn’t a fan because he was afraid of heights. Darryl kept making fun of David because he wouldn’t get on the ride.
Finally, David gave in and got on the Ferris wheel with his brother. When the ride started, David’s stomach felt queasy. Darryl laughed. Then, the unthinkable happened. The Ferris wheel stopped when their seat reached the very top. Darryl decided to start swinging their seat back and forth while they were stuck. David was in full panic mode! He screamed and screamed to be let down.
After 5 minutes, the Ferris wheel started back up and traveled back to the ground. Neither of the boys were in any danger because God was right beside them. Sometimes when we get scared, we forget all about God just like the disciples did.
When we are afraid, God want us to tell him that we are scared so that we will be in fellowship with God. Remember, if God can keep the Jesus and disciples safe during a hurricane like storm, then He can keep you safe from whatever you are afraid of.
Remember, a reason to trust God is that His words are so powerful that when Jesus told the storm to hush, it obeyed Him.
Relax. Don’t lay in bed wide awake worrying, be like Jesus and go to sleep.
