Hello kids! Today we are going to learn about how God’s love has a way of bring you back to Him.
I think I’m going to continue with the football theme again this week. So you remember that are many people who support the whole team.
In your life you have God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. You also have an opponent, Satan is the other team.
You would think that this team always dresses in black. Wrong! Satan’s team can come at you looking beautiful and tempting.
You could wonder: how would it be to play on that team. What if I stole, if I lied, if I cheated, if I say something bad about someone?
It might make me look good, get ahead, or even have more money. Will there be punishment? Sometime, sometimes not. Why is that?
We are here to learn all about God’s ways. So let’s say you do something wrong in football.
You start too early, or you delay the game, this is a small offense that usually comes with you losing 5 yards only.
You pull on a face masks, you hold onto a player longer than you should, what happens? A bigger penalty is called.
There are some really bad offenses such as kneeing an opponent, or hitting the opponent with closed hand and you could be disqualified from that game.
All these penalties are supposed to teach a player to stop doing what he just did.
Change his behavior because he could get hurt, someone else could get hurt or in football lose the game. In your life you will have God the Father give you penalties.
They could be hard ones that last a long time, a month or year even (disqualification).
A not so hard one could be getting caught cheating and get a big fat “0” on your test that could affect your grades that semester. Your mom or dad could catch you lying.
They may just sit down and talk to you or they may take something away for a week. First of all God allowed those people to be in the right place to see what you did.
This is a loving God. He does not want you to keep sinning in the same way all the time. He keeps waiting for you to turn His way and follow His ways again.
But even if it takes you a long time He is always faithful to heal you. His love has a way of bringing you back to Him. He wants you to always turn to Him.
Know by learning His word how loving a God He is!!
