Perseverance : not being a coward and quitting when the going gets tough
Hello kids! Today we are going to learn about patience and perseverance.
Waiting is something you will have a problem with in your life.
It means to look eagerly for, linger for, and expect. But when you face those trouble times this will not be easy.
What God wants is for you to wait and expect that He will come through for you.
Many times you will not understand why God is allowing things to happen in your life.
God has a plan and it is perfect. Bring that to your mind immediately.
Then know that He is trying to develop patience and perseverance in your new man.
The first kind of patience is learning to keep calm towards your friends who treat you badly.
It means don’t complain or get irritated, it means keep your cool! Impossible you say?
Without God in you, you are correct. If you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, you are not alone and have Their help!
They will teach you! Have faith like Abraham did in our lesson last week. The second kind of patience is perseverance.
This is putting up with suffering, affliction, and persecution. Yikes! This is getting harder.
Don’t be afraid, God takes the fear away with His promises. Your faith in these promises is what He is looking for.
He will rescue you in many different ways. His words will guide you through the problem, or He may even remove the suffering.
That’s why it so important to learn, believe, and use His word daily. It’s fresh in your mind that way.
When you have developed perseverance God will know the world will not easily distract you in your sorrows, you will keep your eyes fixed on Him.
What does that mean? Waking up in the morning and thinking of Him first. Pray that you will walk in His plan.
Pray to have that plan shown to you. Agreeing to live in it the best you can, and waiting for His timing.
It may not be when you want it but it will be in His perfect timing. Remember that God loves you even more than your parents!
Luke 6:27-35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return;
and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men."
